guess whats happeing this week?

0 What do you have to say for yourself?
FAIR!!!!!!

the fair here is what some call, the best part of the year. I don't know if it is the absolute best, but I do know that I love going to the fair! It is so much fun because I get to see all of my friends from middle school, and I can pig out on funnel cakes!:)

So far this week I have been to the fair everyday 'cept Sunday (duh). On Saturday I actually worked at the 4-H funnel cake booth and got a free funnel cake :) Yeah! On Monday I went for a couple hours and hung out with my friend, Victoria. It was fun! Yesterday I went and watched Lucy play in the band, then I went home thought b/c I was really tired. I still got to see some of my friends so it was still fun. I probably wont go today since it is raining, and it is Wednesday (church night). Tomorrow I might go and then on Saturday I will most defiantly go Friday for two reasons: 1) It is fair day (NO SCHOOL!!!!) and 2) My cousins from Murfresboro are coming down to hang out with us and go to the fair since they don't have a fair there.

This week has been fun, and will hopefully continue to be fun! :)

1 What do you have to say for yourself?
Well, for those of you crazy enough not to know, Twilight has been moved up to 11.21.08!!!!  I am soooooooooooooo excited!  We are going to go up to Murfresboro and watch it!  I am just sooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!  It is a very exciting time!  We have watched all the previews so many times it is not even funny even my little sisters can talk along with the characters. It is a very exciting time around our house.

Okay....

2 What do you have to say for yourself?
so I know that I have not posted in a while, but I have been sooooo busy.  Here is a small recap of what has happened the past 3 weeks.

  • One week we did sister cities, that was when Sakurako came.  Sakurako is a Japanese exchange student that we had come and stay at our house for a week.  She lives in Mikawa, Japan and is 14 years old.  It was a lot of fun to have her come and stay at our house.  On the first day she was here we took a tour of downtown then we went swimming at the city pool.  On the second day we took a tour of Yorozu, they are a HUGE supporter of sister cities. After that we took a tour of the elementary school.  That evening we got to take her to church.  On Thursday we, actually I don't remember what we did during the day. At night though, they put on a ceremony for us it was really good.  On Friday we went to Lake Winni!  It was very fun!  After lake winnie we went out to eat at sticky fingers.  On Saturday we went shopping all day- it was sooooooooo fun, it was tax free weekend here which made it even funner.  The next day, Sunday, we went to church in the morning. After church Sakurako packed to go home and we had a small good bye party then she was taken to Nashville were early Monday morning they would depart to go back to Japan :( . It was fun while it lasted.

  • Another exciting thing that happened was that school started back again. I started HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!  It is a very exciting thing. I am going to a different school than Lucy is, I have a very small class- a total of 11 people are in my entire grade!  It has been fun.

  • Not much else has happened since school started this weekend has been fun though! Last night Meredith Matheny came down and stayed the night with Alyson, (I couldn't go- I wasn't feeling well)  Also last night it was family night at Hickory Creek (Ella and Molly's school) They watched Nims Island.  Anyone ever seen it?  They said it was really good.  Also last night it was Warren County's first football game of the season!  They lost- of course.  Lucy plays in the band so she go to see the whole game for free!- She had to play in the band the whole time though.  So then this morning our stake had a service project. We cleaned up one of the cemeteries. It was tons of fun because I got to see a lot of my friends that don't live her. After that some of us went swimming in the Catens pool.  Then we just all hung out till tonight, when we went rolling (and got caught)  since we got caught we helped them clean it up. We had a friend with us that does not belong to our church and we told him this is how you go rolling "Mormon style".  It was fun!  now it is time to go to sleep and let me tell you- we are all going to sleep well tonight!

Camp

1 What do you have to say for yourself?
Camp was awesome!!!! I don't have any pictures because they are all on Lucy's camera and I don't know where she is at this moment. Maybe, I will have time a little later. Here is the major events of girls camp:

Tuesday-

  • We got there

  • I found out that I got to room with Meredith Matheny and Lindsey Riches- yay

  • That night we had President Maredith come and speak with us- he is a great speaker and always has a great message.

Wednesday-

  • We had Certification.
  • We had a "hike"
  • We got to go on a wonderful Night Walk that Megan G. made for us- it was absolutely awesome!

Thursday-

  • superhero training
  • skits- preformed by cabins. Our cabin did superhero idol. I was Simon, Paula, and the other guy, I cant remember his name

Friday-

  • Lunch or disaster, I think it turned out as a disaster, we had no pickles and the cheese had water in it :(
  • talent show night, Megan G. Lucy (my sis) Leah P. and I did a superman skit. We got the theme song of superman and acted it out. The stake leaders did a funny skit, go to moms blog to see it. I am serious that it is funny- they all dressed up as chickens and did the chicken dance, remember that this is not a bunch of kids, but a bunch of adults!

Saturday-

  • cleanup time :(
  • award time- I got the craft cabin award. It was a radio that looks like something little tykes would make, but it works! I also got a bee water bottle, a purple bracelet, and a whole lot of candy!
  • good bye camp: (

I also did Secret Sisters at camp. This is were you spend about $10 on gifts for the week and when you get to camp, you get a name of a girl at camp. Everyday you give your "Secret Sister" a gift. I had Meredith Matheny and I gave her:

  • a water gun
  • clay and chalk
  • Hannah Montana gummies and pop rocks
  • These glasses that are a straw, you put one end of the glasses in the drink, and the other in your mouth when the take a drink, it goes all the way around there eyes and then into there mouth. I also got her a nail kit.
  • On the last day I got her wax melts. (wax, tea lights, and a special container thingy that holds the wax and the tea lights while they are burning)

Amber Hill had me and this is what she got me:

  • a really nice journal
  • a picture frame
  • gummy bears- yum!
  • a huge lolly pop and a wind thingy (you hand it up and it twirls around in the wind)
  • she gave me something else, but i don't remember what it was.

All in all, camp was , as always, awesome!

Nancy Drew

1 What do you have to say for yourself?
Have any of you seen Nancy Drew? We bought it the first night that it cam out because my mom and little sister are HUGE fans of her. Anyway, we were going to have a Nancy Drew party. We would get all the boys out of the house, invite the Caten girls over, eat Nancy Drew casserole, and watch Nancy Drew. Everything was set and we were going to have it on the day that Nancy Drew came out, unfortunately Ella got sick. This is not just a cold, but something that catches (I don't remember what it was exactly). We had to call the Catens and reschedule :(. That was like 2 moths ago and guess what we did tonight?

You got it! We finally had that party. The boys were going to be out of the house anyway tonight because it was the father son camp out. We invited the Catens, Mathenys, and Solomons. The Mathenys and Solomons couldn't come, but the Catens still could! It was back to the original people. We didn't have the Nancy Drew Casserole though. We had something much better- Waffles. There is a small story behind my waffle maker.

For Christmas last year I wanted a waffle maker, but not just any waffle maker- oh no. I wanted the best kind there was, like at hotels. I wanted a Belgian waffle maker. Christmas at our house came and went and I didn't get it. Then I went to my grandmas for Christmas and I got it! I was soooo excited. when we got home we had the waffles and they were absolutely awesome! They were so good that we decided that when we had all the young women over for the 6 month planning party this is what we were going to have. The party came and all the girls were here and guess what? The waffle maker doesn't work. I was upset. Don't worry though, the story has a happy ending. My mom called the company that makes the waffle maker, told them the story and they replaced it!! :) It was a happy day!

So we had this party with the Caten and the Hale(me) girls. It started about 5:30 and we didn't really do anything until about 6:00. At 6, we ate. then about 7, we put on Nancy Drew. It ended about 9 and we talked and did nothing till about 9:45. Then the Catens had to leave and we got ready for bed. It was a good day, and I enjoyed it.

Email

2 What do you have to say for yourself?
This is another one of those emails I liked and thought that you might like too.
It looks like this bird has no head! Ahhhhh
How do you think those shoes made that shadow?

How sweet!

Realize how the light from the spaceship is right on the boy? do you think he is still on the Earth, or did they take him back?

I repeat, How sweet!

This picture didn't copy so well. In the good picture you can really tell that the crane looks like it is holding the moon there, or about to pick it up.

find out what you are

3 What do you have to say for yourself?
Birth Test
Let me know your number (leave a comment) Have fun!
Our Birth Date describes who we are, what we are good at, and what our inborn abilities are. It also points to what we have to learn and the challenges we are facing. To figure out your Birth Number, add all the numbers in your Birth Date together, like in the following example, until there is only one digit.
A Birth Number does not prevent you from being anything you want to be; it will just color your choice differently and give you a little insight.
Example: March 20, 1950
3 + 20 + 1950 = 1973
1 + 9 + 7 + 3 = 20
2 + 0 = 2
Keep going until you end up with a single digit number.
2 is the Birth Number to read for the Birth Date in the example.
#1 THE ORIGINATOR
#2 THE PEACEMAKER
#3 THE LIFE OF THE PARTY
#4 THE CONSERVATIVE
#5 THE NONCONFORMIST
#6 THE ROMANTIC
#7 THE INTELLECTUAL
#8 THE BIG SHOT
#9 THE PERFORMER
# 1 - THE ORIGINATOR - 1s are originals Coming up with new ideas and executing them is natural. Having things their own way is another trait that gets them labeled as being stubborn and arrogant. 1's are extremely honest and would do well to learn some diplomacy skills. They like to take the initiative and are often leaders or bosses, as they like to be the best. Being self-employed is definitely helpful for them. Lessons to learn: Others' ideas might be just as good or better; and to stay open
minded. Famous 1s - Tom Hanks, Robert Redford, Hulk Hogan, Carol Burnett, Wynona Judd, Nancy Reagan, and Raquel Welch.
# 2 - THE PEACEMAKER - 2s are the born diplomats. They are aware of others' needs and moods and often think of others before themselves. Naturally analytical and very intuitive, they don't like to be alone. Friendship and companionship are very important and can lead them to be successful in life but, on the other hand, they'd rather be alone than in an uncomfortable relationship. Being naturally shy, they should learn to
boost their self-esteem and express themselves freely and seize the moment and not put things off. Famous 2s - Orlando Bloom, President Bill Clinton, Madonna, Whoopie Goldberg, Thomas Edison, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Emily Gawel
# 3 - THE LIFE OF THE PARTY - 3s are idealists. They are very creative, social, charming, romantic, and easygoing. They start many things but don't always see them through. They like others to be happy and go to great lengths to achieve it They are very popular and idealistic. They should learn to see the world from a more realistic point of view. Famous 3s - Alan Alda, Ann L anders, Bill Cosby, Melanie Griffith, Salvador Dali, and Jodi Foster
# 4 - THE CONSERVATIVE - 4s are sensible and traditional. They like order and routine. They only act when they fully understand what they're expected to do. They like getting their hands dirty and working hard. They are attracted to the outdoors and feel an affinity with nature. They are prepared to wait and can be stubborn and persistent. They should learn to be more flexible and to be nice to themselves. Famous 4s - Neil Diamond, Margaret Thatcher, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tina Turner, Paul Hogan, and Oprah Winfrey
# 5 - THE NONCONFORMIST - 5s are the explorers. Their natural curiosity, risk taking, and enthusiasm often land them in hot water. They need diversity, and don't like to be stuck in a rut. The whole world is their school and they see a learning possibility in every situation. The questions never stop. They are well advised to look before they take action and make sure they have all the facts before jumping to conclusions.
Famous 5s - Abraham Lincoln, Charlotte Bronte, Jessica Walter, Vincent Van Gogh, Bette Midler, Helen Keller and Mark Hail.
# 6 - THE ROMANTIC - 6s are idealistic and need to feel useful to be happy. A strong family connection is important to them. Their actions influence their decisions. They have a strong urge to take care of others and to help. They are very loyal and make great teachers. They like art or music. They make loyal friends who take the friendship seriously. 6s should learn to differentiate between what they can change and what they cannot. Famous 6s - Albert Einstein, Jane Seymour, John Denver, Meryl Streep, Christopher Columbus, Goldie Hawn, and Rachel Hale.
# 7 - THE INTELLECTUAL - 7s are the searchers. Always probing for hidden information, they find it difficult to accept things at face value Emotions don't sway their de cision s. Questioning everything in life, they don't like to be questioned themselves. They're never off to a fast start, and their motto is 'slow and steady wins the race' They come across as philosophers and being very knowledgeable, and sometimes as loners. They are technically inclined and make great researchers uncovering information. They like secrets. They live in their own world and should learn what is acceptable and what is not in the world at large. Famous 7s - William Shakespeare, Lucille Ball, Michael Jackson, Joan Baez, Princess Diana, and Vince Ricciardi.
# 8 - THE BIG SHOT - 8s are the problem solvers. They are professional, blunt, and to the point, have good judgment and are decisive. They have grand plans and like to live the good life. They take charge of people. They view people objectively. They should learn to base their decisions on their own needs rather than on what others want. Famous 8s - Edgar Cayce , Barbra Streisand, George Harrison, Jane Fonda, Pablo Picasso, Aretha Franklin, and Nostradamus.
# 9 - THE PERFORMER - 9s are natural entertainers. They are very caring and generous, giving away their last dollar to help. With their charm, they have no problem making friends and nobody is a stranger to them. They have so many different personalities that people around them have a hard time understanding them. They are like chameleons, ever changing and blending in. They have tremendous luck, but also can suffer from extremes in fortune and mood. To be successful, they need to build a loving foundation. Famous 9s - Albert Schweitzer, Shirley McLain, Harrison Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Elvis Presley
Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it just means that you have decided to see beyond the imperfections

Party pictures part 2- hair

1 What do you have to say for yourself?
We (Lucy, Lyndi, Leah, Paige, and I)decided that my hair would look better with gel, hairspray, a hairdryer, and even a fan put to it.

This is Lyndi, hairspraying my hair

Here I am showing off my hair
We were still working on it
This is the back
I might be leaning back a little bit, but not much in this picture, that is all hair spray, gel
Sorry this picture is sideways, this is me, with the hairdryer

this is lyndi trying tomake her hair as cool as mine, even though it just stayed like it was( mainly because her dad came then)
We crimped Leahs hair, it was very pretty, just like her moms!

Rachel's Party, part 1, the skittles game

4 What do you have to say for yourself?
Elder Carter told a story about us on his blog, so here is a post dedicated to him. Have any of you guys ever heard of the skittles game? I hadn't either until a couple of years ago when elder Ben Carter came over and taught us how to play. When Elder Carter played this game, he actually threw it up on the carpet, and then ate it again!! The object of the game is to get as grossed out as you possibly can, and then throw up because you ate so much. How you play is.. You take a big bag of skittles. the first person draws 2 skittles from the bag. If they are the same color, you may chew. If they are not the same color you just have to sit there with them in your mouth and not chew. More often than not, you draw out to different colors. If you draw out 2 of the same colors, chew fast, because you have to stop chewing when the next person draws out 2 of the same colors, or if it gets back to you. This is Lucy after not chewing for a while.
Page, trying to keep them all in.
Lindy, she couldn't stop laughing.

Beautiful me!
Yeah!! I drew out two the same color!
Poor Leah (both the picture above me and below) she only got to chew like 2 times the entire game! Needless to say, this is NOT her favorite game

It was kinda hard to keep it in, as you see from Lyndi's face.

I don' t know what happened here, but it looks like a skittle that didn't want to get eaten. Part 2 to come. What happens when this group of girls gets into a bottle of hairspray and gel?

Day lilies anyone?

5 What do you have to say for yourself?
Edit* I forgot to tell you that the cost for the day lilies is $1.00 and $2.00 for me to come and plant them( if you live close by, if not, you have to also pay for my plane ticket and my food :) )

This year for *girls camp we have been advised to earn some of the money ourselves and not to rely entirely on our parents, or whoever pays for it.

So to help us out we have the wonderful (drum roll please) TIM HITCHOCK!!! Brother Hitchock has said that he will donate day lilies if we would sell them and take all of the money and use it to pay for girls camp.

If anybody would like to buy some( if you live close enough so that i can give them to you, or you can pay for them to be mailed, if they can be mailed) just give me a call! (if you want my #, leave a comment) Again all this is made possible by the wonderful TIM HITCHOCK!! Thanks so mush Brother Hitchock!!

*Girls camp is a church camp that we go to every year between the ages of 12 and 18, it is the best camp in the world!!!

Family Home Evening (FHE)

2 What do you have to say for yourself?
We had a funny fhe last Monday. It went something like this..

Dad welcomed us, we had opening prayer and song. Dad then turned it over to Lucy who had the activity (we did the activity first because we had to do it outside and wanted to do it before dark.)
Guess what the activity was.

A spitting contest!!!

Lucy got a pitcher of water and dyed it green and we had a spitting contest. Dad won.

Then we came back inside for the lesson- by Molly.
Molly is only 7 so her lesson was just to show us a picture and then to ask us questions. The topic was baptism. We had a conversation that was a little bit different, this is how it went...

Molly: Who knows where Jesus was baptised?

Everybody: waving hands around widely to show how excited we are that she taught us so well.

Molly: Dad.

Everybody: Man I can't believe that she didn't choose me! (sarcastically)

Molly: (at the same time we were talking) Reading ahead in her lesson, not paying any attention to what is going on.

Everybody: gets quiet, waiting for Molly, and Dad to answer.

Molly: Realizes that everybody has gotten quiet and looks up.

Dad: (without ever answering) Did I get it right?

Molly: (not hearing what dad answered, but sure, since he is dad, was right) Say's Yes, good job!!

(We all laughed)

Molly: asks next question

Everybody: waves hand around widely

Molly: William

William: answer's question.

Molly: asks next question

Everybody: waving hands wildly( except for William, since he just answered he figured that he wouldn't get called on again so he just has his hand up.)

Molly: William

William: answers question.

Molly: asks next question

Everybody: waving hands wildly (except for William who is sure that since he just answered the last 2 questions that it is somebody else's turn, he doesn't even raise his hand)

Molly: William

William: answers question( looking around to see if anybody else realizes this weird thing that is happening- we all do)

Molly: That's my lesson- Thanks for participating!

Yeah, she just picked dad for the first one and William for all the rest- oh well, she is 7.

We then take the pie that mom has made and take it over to the bishops house. At the bishops house dad finds a craw dad and shows it to us. Mom is horrified. Then after dad puts the crawdad back, molly comes up and gently rubs against mom, mom screams thinking that it is the crawdad. Then me, who is standing right next to her screams, then Lucy who is standing right next to me, then the bishops wife and daughter scream because they are standing right next to Lucy. We all laugh then because we realize that we all screamed just because molly rubbed up against mom- well mom didn't laugh because she doesn't think that it is funny when we pretend that some animal is touching her. When we are heading out to the car Lucy rubs up against mom, and she screams again.

It was a fun Family Home Evening!

An Awesome gift.

1 What do you have to say for yourself?
Awards are down below, make sure and check to see if you got one!!

Yesterday we recieved a package in the mail. hmmm what could it be? Nobody knew.

We shook it- it jingled.

What could it be, we all asked?

We decided to open it, and what did we find?

why it was *CTR rings from Ben Carter.

We are soooo thankful for this! He gave us like 20 rings in all shapes and sizes. We each took a couple that we liked the best, and now we all have ( at least 2) CTR rings!

It is very exciting! - I even have a pink one, to match all my stuff!

Thanks elder Carter!!!

*CTR stands for Choose The Right.

This is weird

0 What do you have to say for yourself?
Scroll down for Fun Monday

I got this email from my friend Lindsey, I also heard that Michelle sent it to some people It is really weird and it works, at least for me. You don't have to download anything or something like that, but you might need a calculator. Try it!!

YOUR AGE BY EATING OUT
Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but your waiter may know!

YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH This is pretty neat DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758... If you haven't, add 1757.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number. ( I. e., How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)
The next two numbers are YOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!) THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

Why?

1 What do you have to say for yourself?
I was on someones blog- don't remember who- and I saw this little thingy. It said that if I went to this certain site it would tell me what education to be in to be able to understand my blog, this is kind of weird because I am only in Middle School, yet this is what my blog is rated

blog readability test

Why is it rated like that? Can anyone tell me?
