Fun Monday

Well it is Fun Monday again!! http://mariposatells.blogspot.com/ is hosting it this week and the assignment is...

I'll only be asking TWO things -

(1) Please share to us how the NAME of your BLOG was made? I can't wait to hear interesting funny stories!

(2) Please share to us (in words or photo, though a combination of both will be a bonus!) your favorite/ most common dish!

The part of Fun Monday where I tell why I named my blog this and why...

How many of you would like to live here?

How about here? I would rather not, so I redid a room in our basement (that is were the basement part of the name comes in- the next post are where the pink comes in)This is where pink meets the basement.
This is my messy-organized room, it is pink!!
This is my awesome bed- my dad built it for me- it swings!! I got this for V-day. I like it because it is pink.

The recipe part of Fun Monday
( I got this off of my moms other blog www.shecooksforthefamily.blogspot.com)

Okay, so this is like the best cake ever!! It makes a perfect after school snack. This also make a perfect cake to take to a party or, like us, a treat to make on a Sunday afternoon. We loooooove this, even Harrison likes it!! So how you make it is..........

1 Yellow cake mix
1 stick of melted butter
1 egg
you mix all of these items together and then pat into the bottom of a greased 9 by 13 pan. This will serve as the bottom of the cake and taste very good.

1 8 ounce thing of cream cheese
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick melted butter
1 pound powdered sugar
Beat the cream cheese till it is smooth, then add the eggs, vanilla, and butter. Mix well. Then you add the pound of powdered sugar and mix well again. Once you have done all of this, you need to spread it over the top of th cake batter that you have already put in the 9 by 13 pan. Then bake 40-50 min. the center should be a little gooey.

My mortification is complete! Our basement is awful and now everyone knows it.

The best part Rachel is that your bedroom is a mess, too.

But I am just your mother so it doesn't matter what I think, just as long as you are happy, honey.

Now I think you should make some of those Gooey Butter Cake Bars.

I think after looking at the photos that the name is very well deserved! The recipe is very intriguing and I'm copying and pasting it for later retrieval thank you so much...
Oh and have a happy pink week!

Now that is one cool bed! And I love the "touch" of pink in the basement. Your mom will get over her mortification -- that's what moms are for!

I have a friend that wanted a bed like yours. Something about swinging....I think it would make me sea sick even if I was in a basement.

That recipe sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing it!

Is there a rule about basement rooms for girls being pink? I know another teenage girl who has pink room as well. Very cool bed!

Wow, your pink room is fab, and the bed is great, though I'd be scared of falling off.

And the recipe is lovely. I may try it with my little monkeys. :D

I think you have the coolest room!! I'm glad you showed it to me the other day. It's nice to have your own space away from everything. And of course, I LOVE PINK!!!

Trad and I were discussing those gooey bars last night at dinner. He wants me to make some soon!!

I love your bed! I so want a bed that swings too! you think your dad and your family would be willing to visit NC?? Umm how about a bed that can swing that holds like 500lbs to be on the safe side! we like to jump. LOL
perhaps, extra re-inforcements would be required! OK, That cake is my Aden's favorite and he begs for it often.!

I love how you created your own room in the basement. Too bad your mother is mortified over the pictures you've posted ;)

That cake sounds delicious!

well, I can say that is a very pink room. I am thinking pink shag carpet might be in order. You know, it has potential - there are different shades of pink. As for myself, I decorate my rooms in rustic - I am hoping it will be the "in" thing in a few years. NLM
